Mercedes
Mercedes is such a good student. She discovered last night that her straight A streak was compromised by a very high B. It's not even the end of the quarter so she has plenty of time to bring it up before it goes on the report card, but she cried like it was the end of the world. Poor girl. She sets such high standards for herself, which is a good thing, I just hope she doesn't get too stressed out. She's a great babysitter and always knows where the kids are. She babysits the two younger kids on the playground while I watch the boys play football. She gets paid a dollar a night, to make $20 a month. She does a wonderful job! If ever one of the kids gets out of sight for even a moment, she immediately thinks to pray. I trust her so much because she is so responsible. She loves her cousin Daisy, and really fawns over her (and all babies). Michelle let her babysit for an hour the other night. Mercedes was so excited that she picked out a special outfit and called it her babysitting outfit because it was professional looking. She's in soccer and does a good job. She hustles, but she is timid about the ball. Sweet girl! She told me the other day how she and Jared had locked eyes at each other and smiled. She has had a crush on this boy for three years and they've never talked, although they have been in the same class for three years. This made her very happy.
