Updates

Joshua is a great big brother. Today Cub actually preferred him to me when he woke up. I think he feels safe with Joshua compared to how he feels with the other kids. Joshua was on Honor Roll recently. He played well for flag football and really showed quite a bit of improvement. His team made it to the championship and almost won. Joshua wasn't allowed to play, however, because he had sprained a muscle in his leg and was limping around for a couple of weeks. He seems to be happy at school. Today I brought in some napkins for his class party and he acted a little embarrassed that I was there. I guess he is growing up. He has lots of friends. He's really into building with his legos. He recently tore apart my old lap top because he wanted to see how it worked.

Mercedes is really thriving this year. She has lots of friends, she's getting straight A's and has had quite a confidence boost this year. She reads really well. She is a good little helper for me and I can always count on her to get her chores done with a good attitude. She's the best out of all my kids for getting herself dressed and ready and taking pride in her appearance. She even helps Hannah get ready on most Sundays. She's in gymnastics this year and seems to really enjoy that.

Luke is still insistent on being called Lukey Bear when he meets new people. Most of his little friends at church call him by this name. He is one that needs his ego stroked. This works better than nagging or telling. He will do almost anything for you if he feels valued and needed. But, he is a stubborn ox when he is told to do something or nagged. It's a lesson in patience. He loves to wrestle Joshua and he loves playing with Mercedes too, he balances them both out pretty well. He is strong for his age and I think he will grow to be a rather large chested young man.

Hannah is a ray of sunshine and a breath of fresh air. She's always making up songs and dancing around. She wiggles her hips and says, "Boom chicka boom, don't you just love it, a boom chicka boom". She made up a theme song for herself that went something like, "Her name is Hannah, Hannah! And she can dance, and she can sing, because she's Hannah Hannah!". She Loves singing the song Gethsemene with Mercedes and they can really belt it out. She loves getting kisses and she pushes them in. She's affectionate and quirky.

Caleb, Cub, Cubby, K-Cub. He's growing so fast I can hardly believe it. He sings too! He loves singing primary songs, Twinkle Twinkle, and Gethsemene. He climbs really well, he flips over the couch, he LOVES his daddy!!! He says things like "YUCK!" in the cutest little way. He will scowl on command soooo well. He is obsessed with Halloween and says the word "halloween" in the sweetest little voice. He's become obsessed with candy. He likes to blink for you. He loves when Jon Mark comes home. He's quite entertaining to everyone around him. He's temperamental at times but quick to give kisses.
