Jon Mark bought me this awesome hat to protect my face, It isn't very fashionable, but it served it's purpose for which I am grateful.

San Diego 3
We went to the Midway and toured it while we were in San Diego. The kids enjoyed sitting in a cockpit of a real air plane and Joshua perfected his "smolder" look, which you can't really see all that well in the picture, but it was really cute.

The kids loved the beach. I think it was their favorite activity. My mom and mother in law brought some neat sand toys, which kept the younger kids busy.
Poor Caleb got sunburned even though I reapplied sunscreen and kept him in the shade. His little nose peeled.
My mom was brave and hit the waves for a bit with my dad and father in law.
Mercedes, Luke, and Hannah wouldn't go into the water much. They had more fun playing in the sand and looking at the crabs that Bekah and Casey were collecting. Joshua and Tyler stayed in the water the whole time.
The water was COLD, but I finally got in for a little bit and rode some waves with Jon Mark. The water was also very clear and had a LOT of crabs. The kids had fun collecting them.

Getting five kids to get together for a picture is impossible. There are only four pictured here. Caleb was being held by Mommom while we walked down to get a closer look at the seals (in the background). They aren't seals, they're called something else, but I am drawing a blank right now... They were smelly, but the kids thought that they were neat. Ah, yes, Sea Lions. I believe that is what they are called.
The kids loved seeing the ocean for the first time. Hannah was flabbergasted. She had wide eyes and pointed to the ocean. She said, "dad, WATER!" In the most awe-inspired way.
We told them just to get their feet wet. They didn't listen.
