Mercedes has said some funny things recently. The other night she told me that she knew it was mean to call people fat so she wanted to tell me that when she called someone wide it really meant that she was trying to tell me that they were fat. Then, she asked me if she would be small like me when she grew up. I said that she probably would be. Then, she started to whine and said that she wanted to be skinny like me but she didn't want to be short, she wanted to be really tall. That's when I crushed her dreams like a giant squishing an egg between his fist, :)
The other day on our walk, Mercedes kept tripping and falling, she came up to me crying and told me that Joshua was using the force to make her fall. I thought she was kidding around, so I said, "oh yes, the force is strong with that one." She ran off terrified. Later on, she came back in tears again because Joshua had used the force on her again. She told me to tell him to stop. And that is when we determined that he was a sith because he was using the force for bad instead of good. HAHA!

Painting, Kid Drawings, Awards, Mother's Day, And Caleb v. Toilet

Mercedes got a leadership award.
Mercedes was student of the week and I got to write her a letter to read aloud to her class. She also got to pick out one of her favorite pictures of herself.
Joshua gave me a book that he made for Mother's Day.
Mercedes gave me this poem.
Caleb has been throwing things into the toilet. These are mine and Hannah's shoes. He's such a big boy. The other day, Jon Mark was playing peek-a-boo over the stair well with him. When Jon Mark was done, Caleb kept looking at the stairwell then back at me then back at the stairwell, obviously wondering when Jon Mark would pop up again. When he finally made the connection that he wasn't coming back, he waved his hands in the baby sign that means "all done" and tried to verbalize "all done". He did that same thing while I was nursing him to tell me that he was all done nursing. He signed it, and then got down off of my lap and walked away. My nursing days are swiftly coming to an end. :(
Summer Walks
The heat is on and so are our walking legs. Jon Mark and I like to push the limits of our children to show them that they are capable of doing things that are hard. One of those things is going on really long walks/bike rides. The heat doesn't keep us down. I drench the kids in water and sunscreen. I arm them with snacks and hats, and off we go. Once we got there, Jazmine didn't want anything to do with it. She sat next to me the whole time. The other kids, Caleb included, seemed to enjoy themselves.
Hannah's been funny, and a little wild. She got so out of control the other night that I sent her to bed early, which made her even more out of control. My hand has been hurting me recently, so I couldn't lift her and carry her back to bed when she ran away, so I had to call Jon Mark to help. He came upstairs and asked Hannah calmly if he needed to help. She hung her head like a wounded puppy and sulked back to bed.
Space Room
Joshua and Luke are very excited about how their space room is coming along. It's not finished yet, but the moon and the BB8 painting were huge hits. As was the planet mobile. Most of it was given to me by a family friend and the paintings were all done by your's truly, so it was very close to "free" decorating.

Poop
This picture doesn't do it justice. There was poop EVERYWHERE!!!! Every stair had a poop blob, the walls were finger painted, and under the stairs (where the deed happened) there were plastic cups full of poop. She tried cleaning it up by herself, and she tried taking a bath by herself, that's how I discovered what had happened. I heard the bath water running. And, boy did she look guilty!!!! I quit AGAIN! Potty training is the worst! Hannah has been very difficult to potty train. This is the third time I have quit. Now, she tells me when she needs to pee and I tell her to go in her diaper. After she is done, she announces that she peed in her diaper.
